To update your physical address, you cannot simply edit the text in your profile. Because of Canadian verification laws and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations, you must provide official documentation to prove your new residency. This ensures your account remains compliant with provincial “ring-fencing” rules.

The verification process

  1. Submit a Request: Go to your Account Settings or contact the Help Centre to initiate the change.
  2. Upload Proof of Address (POA): You will need to upload a digital copy (PDF or clear photo) of a document showing your full name and your new address.
  3. Review Period: Our security team will review the document. This usually takes 24 to 48 hours. Once verified, your account details will be updated automatically.

Acceptable documents

To be accepted, the document must be dated within the last 3 months. Common examples include:

  • Utility Bills: Electricity, water, gas, or home internet (mobile phone bills are generally not accepted).
  • Financial Statements: A recent bank or credit card statement.
  • Government Correspondence: A Notice of Assessment from the CRA or other official provincial mail.
  • Residential Lease: A signed, formal tenancy agreement.

Why this is required

Regulators like iGaming Ontario and the Alberta iGaming Corporation require strict oversight to ensure every player is a legal resident of a permitted jurisdiction. This process also prevents identity theft and ensures that any tax-related documentation or physical mail reaches the correct person. If you move to a different province, please note that available betting markets may change to comply with your new local laws.
