My Approach: It’s More Than Just a “Hunch”
You won’t find “guaranteed winners” or “locks” here. Instead, you will find prognostics.
What does that mean? It means every play I share is backed by a detailed analysis of data, team news, and situational trends. I update my picks daily to reflect the current state of the leagues. However, there is something important to remember: The odds you see in my posts might differ from what you find at your sportsbook. Betting lines move constantly based on injuries, weather, and where the “big money” is going.

The Strategy: Hunting for “Value”
Some people ask me: “How do you know if a bet was good?” Most people think a bet is good if it wins and bad if it loses. I disagree.
My strategy is entirely based on finding Value. Let’s break that down simply:
Imagine I analyze a game and determine there is a 50% probability of an event happening. Mathematically, that should be priced at odds of +100. If a sportsbook is offering odds of +120 for that same event, I have found value.
The “1,000 Times” Rule
When I say an event has a 50% chance of happening, I’m not saying the game will be “close.” I’m saying that if that exact game were played 1,000 times, I expect my outcome to happen 500 times.
- If my team loses 5-1 today, it doesn’t mean the bet was bad.
- If my team wins 6-0, it doesn’t necessarily mean the bet was excellent.
The quality of a bet is determined by the math, not just the final score of a single game.
Beating the Market: The Closing Line Value (CLV)
How do I truly evaluate my performance? I look at the Closing Line.
If I place a bet at +120 and, one minute before the game starts, the odds have dropped to +100, it means the market eventually agreed with my assessment. I “beat the closing line.” If the odds rose to +140, it means the market moved against me.
Over the long run, if you consistently bet at higher odds than the final closing price, you will likely be a profitable bettor. However, I don’t obsess over CLV alone. The market isn’t always right, and sometimes you might see something the rest of the world is missing!
Why I Write These Prognostics
I know that the world of betting can be full of complicated jargon and “math talk” that can be intimidating. My goal as a writer is to bridge that gap.
I write for everyone – from the veteran bettor to the person who just wants to add a little extra excitement to the Maple Leafs or Raptors game tonight. I keep my language simple and avoid overly technical terms because I want this to be an educational experience.
Reading a prognostic is the best way to understand how another bettor thinks. It’s about sharing a vision, teaching the “why” behind the “what,” and enjoying the greatest sports leagues in the world together.
