Welcome offer eligibility for old accounts

Whether you are eligible for a welcome offer with an existing, unfunded account depends on how the platform defines a “New Player” versus a “First Deposit” user. In Canada, most sites allow a window of opportunity, but it isn’t indefinite.
The “First Deposit” rule
Most welcome bonuses are technically First Deposit Matches. Even if your account has been open for a few weeks, you are often still eligible as long as you have never successfully completed a deposit. The system usually triggers the offer the moment your first transaction is approved.
The registration grace period
Many platforms—especially in Ontario—have a specific window for welcome offers:
- Common Timeframe: You typically have 7 to 30 days from the date of account creation to claim the bonus.
- Expiration: If your account is several months old, the “Welcome Offer” may have timed out. You are still a “new depositor,” but no longer a “newly registered player.”
What to do if your account is “old” but unfunded
If you created an account months ago but never used it, do not just deposit and hope for the best:
- Check “My Offers”: Log in and see if the welcome bonus is still listed in your dashboard.
- Contact Support: Ask Live Chat if they can manually reactivate the offer for you as a courtesy. They will often do this if your transaction history is empty.
⚠️ Warning on “Double Accounts”: Do not create a second account to claim a bonus. Canadian operators use strict KYC checks. Opening a second account is considered bonus abuse, which leads to closed accounts and forfeited winnings.
