EFT withdrawal timelines and holiday delays

When you withdraw via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) in Canada, funds move through the traditional banking system. This multi-step process typically takes 3 to 5 business days.
The internal processing window
Before the bank receives the transaction, the operator must approve it.
- Review Period: Most sites take 24 to 48 hours to check for wagering requirements and verify your ID (KYC).
- Pending Status: During this phase, your withdrawal is “Pending.” You can often cancel it to return funds to your playable balance.
The clearing system (ACSS)
Once approved, funds enter the Automated Clearing Settlement System (ACSS).
- Transit Time: It takes 2 to 3 business days for money to travel between banks.
- Posting: Your bank (TD, RBC, Scotiabank, etc.) may take another 24 hours to “post” the credit to your account.
Weekends and 2026 holidays
Banks do not process EFTs on weekends or holidays. If you request a withdrawal on a Friday afternoon, “Day 1” may not begin until Monday.

If you want to avoid the 5-day wait, try these methods:
- Interac e-Transfer: Usually the fastest choice. Funds often arrive within 30 minutes to 6 hours after approval.
- Instant Bank Transfers: Services like Trustly or Flinks can bypass the standard window for supported banks.
- Early Verification: Ensure your ID and utility bills are already verified to prevent an extra 2-day delay during the review.
