Quick Answer

Before you claim, read the bonus terms for ten things: reward type, wagering multiple, expiry, minimum odds, eligible markets or games, maximum stake, maximum win, payment method rules, who qualifies and how winnings are paid. Screenshot the page.

Bonus terms are where an offer’s real value is set, and the headline rarely tells the whole story. This checklist helps you read them in two minutes.

The ten bonus terms to check

Start with the reward type, whether free bet, bonus money or free spins, and then the wagering multiple, which is capped at 10 times the bonus. Check the expiry, the minimum odds, and the eligible markets or games, including how each one counts towards wagering.

Then look at the maximum stake while the bonus is active, the maximum win, any payment method restrictions, who qualifies, and the payout: cash or bonus funds, and whether the stake is returned.

Bonus expiry: the deadline people miss

Bonus expiry is the deadline for meeting your wagering requirement, counted from when the bonus is credited, for example 7 or 30 days. When it passes, the bonus and anything won with it are normally removed, though your own deposited cash normally stays. Find the date or countdown on your offers or bonus balance page, and read the terms for both a claim deadline and a wagering deadline.

A £20 bonus at 10x needs £200 of play, which over 7 days is about £29 a day. If that is more than you planned to spend, it is fine to let the bonus expire. The clock keeps running whether you play or not, so never raise your stakes to beat a deadline.

Good habits

Screenshot the terms on the day you claim. Open the full terms before you claim, usually behind a “terms apply” link on the offer page, with the operator’s general terms in the site footer. Check where you can use the offer, and skip any offer that pushes you to deposit more than you planned.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What if I do not understand a term?

Ask support to explain it in writing before you claim. If you have already claimed, ask anyway, and keep the reply with your screenshots.

Is a bigger bonus always better?

No. A smaller offer with fair terms can be worth more than a large one with strict conditions. Value comes from the terms, not the headline.

Can I get more time if my bonus is about to expire?

Rarely. Extensions are at the operator’s discretion, so ask only if the delay was theirs, and keep screenshots that show the problem and the time.
