How to find and track your bonus balance
In the UK, strict transparency rules require operators to keep your real money and your bonus funds strictly segregated. If your “Main Balance” hasn’t moved after claiming an offer, don’t worry—your funds are likely sitting in a separate “pocket” of your digital wallet.
The “Two-Pocket” Wallet
Most UK betting apps display your total balance in the top corner. If you click on that figure, you will see a breakdown:
- Withdrawable/Cash Balance: This is your own money that you can withdraw at any time.
- Bonus/Free Bet Balance: This is where promotional funds live. These cannot be withdrawn until they are “converted” into cash through winnings or by meeting wagering requirements.
The Betslip Check
The most common place to see your Free Bets isn’t in your account menu—it’s on your betslip.
- Add a selection to your slip.
- Look for a checkbox or toggle that says “Use Free Bet” or “Available Bonus.”
- If you don’t see this, check that your selection meets the Minimum Odds (usually 1/2 or 1.50) required by the offer.
The “My Promotions” Tab
If your balance is still showing zero, head to the “Active Bonuses” or “Promotions” tab in your account menu. Some sites require you to manually “claim” or “activate” the bonus here after you’ve met the qualifying criteria. This is also the best place to track your progress if you are working through a wagering requirement.
Reminder: In the UK, “Free Bet” stakes are almost never returned with your winnings. If you place a £10 free bet on a 2/1 winner, you will receive the £20 profit, but the £10 stake is not included in the payout.
