Bet settled wrongly? How to ask for a review
If a bet looks settled wrongly, compare it with the official result and the bet rules, such as dead heat, each way terms or Rule 4 deductions. Then ask support for a review in writing with the bet ID and evidence. If they refuse, use the complaints process.
A bet settled wrongly can usually be corrected if you act with evidence. First check whether the result is really wrong or follows a rule you did not expect.
Rules that change a payout
- Dead heat: a tie for a place reduces the winnings.
- Each way terms: the place fraction and number of places vary by race.
- Rule 4 deductions: a late withdrawal in horse racing can reduce the winnings.
- Void or postponed events: these follow separate rules, and a void bet normally returns the stake.
Many grading surprises come from rules that players do not read: a tie, an event that is cancelled, a non-runner or a late withdrawal. These can look like errors until you read the market terms, so read the rules shown on the betslip before you ask for a review.
How to ask for a review when a bet settled wrongly
Find the bet ID, event, selection and odds in your history, then check the official result from the organiser, not a social media post. Compare it with the bet rules shown on the betslip or in the terms. Contact support in writing and ask for a review, attaching screenshots, and keep every reply. Quote the rule that you think applies, such as the dead heat or each way terms, because a request that cites the rule gets a more useful answer than a general complaint. If support is slow, follow up once in writing and then move to the formal complaints process.
If you disagree with the answer
Ask for a final response in writing, so that you have the reason in black and white. An operator may correct a genuine error under its terms, which can change your balance, so ask for the reason in writing. If the answer is unclear or unfair, say clearly that you are making a formal complaint, and set out the facts and what you want.
