Betting support not replying? How to escalate
If support is not replying, follow up in writing with your case number, ask for a manager or the complaints team, and then make a formal complaint. The operator has 8 weeks to resolve it, and after that you may take it to an independent ADR provider.
When support not replying leaves you waiting, a clear paper trail is your best tool. These steps move your query up the ladder without stress.
Support not replying: step by step
- Reply to your last message and ask for a case number and a time frame.
- Wait a reasonable time, such as two or three working days, then chase once.
- Ask for the query to be passed to a manager or the complaints team.
- Say clearly that you are making a formal complaint, and set out what you want.
- Keep copies of everything with dates.
What happens next
The operator has 8 weeks to resolve a formal complaint. After that you may take it to an independent Alternative Dispute Resolution provider, but only once you have completed the operator’s own process, so you cannot go to ADR straight away. The Gambling Commission guide sets out the process in more detail.
Make the complaint specific. Say what happened, when, what you have already tried and what outcome you want, and attach your evidence. A short, factual message is easier to resolve than a long account, and it is easier to refer to later.
Keep it calm and clear
One clear follow-up works better than many messages. Be polite, clear and patient, and keep the whole thread in one place. If live chat or email is not working, try another channel and note the dates and times you tried, because that record shows you made an effort to reach support. Keep a simple log of dates and what was said, and avoid threats or heated language, since a calm tone is taken more seriously and keeps the focus on the facts.
