How to turn on two-factor authentication for betting
Open your account's security or settings menu, choose two-factor authentication, pick an authenticator app or text messages, confirm the code and save any backup codes. An authenticator app is generally safer than text messages.
Setting up two-factor authentication for betting adds a second proof, such as a code from your phone, on top of your password. Even if someone steals the password, they cannot log in without that second step.
How to set up two-factor authentication
- Log in and open your profile, settings or security menu.
- Select two-factor authentication, sometimes called two-step verification or 2FA.
- Choose a method: an authenticator app, text messages or email codes, depending on what the operator offers.
- Scan the QR code or enter your phone number, then type the code to confirm.
- Save the backup codes in a password manager or another safe place.
Choosing a method
An authenticator app is the stronger choice when it is offered, because the codes are created on your phone and cannot be intercepted in a text. Text messages are convenient, but a stolen or swapped SIM can expose the codes. Email codes are only as safe as your email account, so protect that account too.
If the code does not arrive
A missing code is usually a wrong contact detail, a weak signal or a blocked sender, not a problem with your account. Confirm that the phone number or email on file is current, turn airplane mode off, and check the spam, junk and promotions folders for email codes. Make sure message filters or blocked-sender lists on your phone are not catching the text.
Request one new code, wait a full minute and use only the newest one, since older codes stop working. For an authenticator app, set the phone’s date and time to automatic, because a wrong clock produces invalid codes. If you are still stuck, try another method, or contact support and ask to reset your method after an identity check.
