Published:The 2026/27 Champions League enters its third year under the 36-team single table, and looking through the draw, I found eight long-term bets that carry good value.
Manchester City to reach the final (9/2)
The post-Guardiola transition under Enzo Maresca has seen City drift to 9/1 to win the whole thing, but the roster is still among the best in the world. Maresca has enough depth across the board to navigate the tournament and push the team into the final in Madrid.
Harry Kane for top goalscorer (7/1)
In the top goalscorer market, I like Harry Kane at 7/1. He put up 61 goals for Bayern Munich last season and hit double digits in his last two Champions League runs. Under Vincent Kompany, Bayern play heavily on the front foot. While Kylian Mbappe is the clear favourite, Kane has already shown he can hit 14 goals in a single European season, which makes 7/1 a much better price.
Manchester United to finish in the Top 8 (13/8)
Michael Carrick has a couple of tricky fixtures against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford and Atletico Madrid away, but the rest of the schedule is forgiving. With matches against Sabah, Como, Roma, RB Leipzig and Villarreal, United should easily push toward the 16 points needed to skip the playoff round.

FC Porto to finish in the Top 8 (4/1)
Porto have a well-rounded side with Diogo Costa in goal, Victor Froholdt and Santiago Gimenez up front. Outside of meetings with Manchester City and Liverpool, their draw is very manageable. They host PSV, Napoli and Slavia, and travel to LASK, Feyenoord and Betis. That schedule gives them a direct route to the 16-point mark.
Aston Villa to finish between 9th and 24th (61/100)
Villa won the Europa League last season but lost several key players over the summer. While Unai Emery will keep them organised and competitive, a top eight spot feels just out of reach. Their physical style and recent European experience should still see them safely into the knockout playoffs.
Top 8 Treble: Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich (12/5)
I put together a parlay for three teams to finish in the top eight. Arsenal had the tightest defence in Europe last season and won all eight league-phase fixtures. Liverpool have a straightforward run of games under Andoni Iraola, and Bayern rarely drop points at home. It is a solid combination on three proven sides.
Paris Saint-Germain to finish in the playoffs (13/8)
They might be tournament favourites, but Luis Enrique’s teams consistently start slow in Europe, landing in the playoff bracket in each of the past two seasons. On top of that, key midfielders like Vitinha and Joao Neves are carrying heavy minutes from the World Cup, which makes another sluggish start likely.
Slovan Bratislava to finish bottom (4/1)
Yaya Toure faces an uphill battle with a schedule that includes PSG, Roma, Inter and Porto. Two years ago they lost every single league match and conceded 27 goals. Without the squad depth to handle this level of competition, they look destined to stay anchored to the bottom.
