Craps Hub: Rules, Bets, Strategies & Top Casinos
Craps is the loudest, most social game on the casino floor — and also one of the most intimidating to walk up to for the first time. Between the shouting, the crew of dealers, and a betting layout covered in numbers, it looks a lot more complicated than it actually is.
This hub brings together every one of our Craps guides in one place: how a round flows, what each bet actually does, and how much it pays.
The Table and How a Round Flows
Every round splits into two stages tracked by a disc called the Puck: the Comeout Roll, when the shooter tries to set a Point, and the Intermediate Rolls, when the whole table wants that number to land again before a 7. Knowing the layout — the Rail, the Bank, the Puck and the betting areas — makes the rest click into place.

The Pass Line and Come Bets
The Pass Line is the most popular bet in the game — almost everyone plays it, so the whole table wins and loses together. Once the Point is set, taking Odds behind it is the single fairest bet in the casino. Come Bets do the exact same thing mid-round, letting you open a fresh Point of your own at any time.

Place Bets, Buy Bets and Spread Bets
Place bets let you pick your own numbers with none of the Pass Line’s contract restrictions. Buying the 4 and 10 for a 5% commission gets you true odds, and pressing your winnings turns a hot streak into real money. Once you want several numbers covered at once, Spread bets like Across, Inside and Outside do it with a single call to the dealer.

The Dark Side: Don’t Pass, Don’t Come and Overlays
Betting the dark side means backing the 7 to show up instead of the shooter’s Point — mathematically the strongest position in the game once the Point is set. Don’t Come repeats the same idea mid-round, and Overlay bets let you skip the wait entirely by betting directly against one specific number.

Proposition Bets: One-Roll, Multi-Bets and Hardways
The centre of the table carries the highest house edge in the casino, but also the biggest payouts: Any Seven, Any Craps, Yo, the Horn, the World and the Hop bets all settle on a single roll. Hardways are the exception — they stay live for multiple rolls, and the Buffalo strategy is the classic way to hedge them.

Table Etiquette
Self-service bets, tipping the crew with a Two-Way wager, hedging your Pass Line money, and never string-betting — the unwritten rules that keep a live table running smoothly.
