Saving the evidence first makes the report much stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-to-save-before-you-report-a-misleading-gambling-advert\">What to save before you report a misleading gambling advert<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The advert itself:<\/strong> a screenshot or a recording.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>When and where:<\/strong> the date, the time and the website, app or social media platform.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The brand:<\/strong> the operator or company named in it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The terms:<\/strong> any conditions linked from the advert.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Posts and adverts can be removed quickly, so capture them before you do anything else. If the advert was a video or a story, record the screen so the wording and the terms are both visible, and write down the account name that posted it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-report-it\">How to report it<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open the ASA&#8217;s complaint page and complete the online form with those details. Explain clearly why you think the advert is misleading or irresponsible, for example because it hides important conditions, seems aimed at children or makes gambling look risk free. Keep your confirmation. The ASA does <strong>not accept email complaints<\/strong>, so the online form is the only route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-the-asa-does-not-handle\">What the ASA does not handle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ASA looks at adverts, not individual account disputes. If an offer was refused or your own account has a problem, complain to the operator first and use an approved dispute resolution service if that fails. Check the offer terms too, because an advert can be eye-catching while the conditions explain what you really get.
